About

Born and raised in Montreal, Alex St-Jean studied Physics and Photography at McGill University and Dawson College respectively. After learning to dive in 2011, he began taking underwater photographs and the obsession has not stopped since.

Photographing Marine Wildlife, Freediving and Ocean Culture are where his primary interests lie. Water surrounds us all and is essential to life on earth. The unrelenting power, beauty, harshness and complexity of the Ocean is ceaselessly fascinating. To be able to document it and attempt to capture it's beauty is what Alex has dedicated his craft to.

A deep appreciation and respect for the Ocean and our Environment has led him to distant places to explore and better understand our world. The photos you see here are his way of sharing the beauty that surrounds us.
